Yes, you read that right, I am only 22 years old and have a bald patch on my head, it's just a little bit bigger than the size of a 50p piece.
Over the last few days I have been experiencing a sore head when I brush and touch my scalp, espically when washing my hair. I never thought anything of it until this morning when I woke up and went into the bathroom and I looked in the mirror and nearly fell with shock!
I thought, 'this can't be right, I am only 22 years old'! Quickly I shouted "ANDY"!
He looked in shock and suggested I should ring the doctors for an appointment today. I was taking Alesha to playgroup at 10.00am so I asked for an afternoon appointment and I was lucky enough to get one for 2.00pm.
I felt so embarrassed, looking in the mirror trying to brush my hair over the bald patch to cover it. I guess I am thankful to have very thick hair, so it wasn't much of a problem to get it covered and then I made sure I sprayed loads of hairspray on it to keep it in place, can't be having the wind blow it.
The doctor took a look at it and suggested it's because I am anaemic, which I already knew because I am already on iron tablets ever since having my daughter in December 2009.
But, with my latest prescription for the iron tablets the 3 chemists near by me said they are out of stock, might be waiting a month, WHAT?
So I am off into town tomorrow with Andy and Alesha, fingers crossed a chemist in there has them in stock.
The doctor wants me back in 2 months time for another blood test.
I never knew being anaemic can cause hair loss, but it sure does!
