My Big Princess Ready For School

My big princess Alesha was dressed and ready for school alot earlier than normal this morning because she was excited to be going on her 2 wheel One Direction scooter to school whilst daddy walked alongside her.

We thought seen as though the nice weather is here we would start walking to and from school as often as we can instead of using the car. Not only is it good exercise for Alesha it also gets Alana used of walking long distances.

Can't believe how grown up Alesha looks in this photo, mad to think that she is going to be 6 in December. Even crazier to think this Christmas were going to be a family of 5 with 3 little girls, exciting times!

Review: Frankie and Benny's New York Italian Restaurant and Bar

Me and our little family were really pleased when we opened two envelopes which contained vouchers for us to go and review a Frankie & Benny's restaurant.

Brandon has never been to one of Frankie & Benny's restaurant before, nor have the children Alesha and Alana. I myself, have only been twice a few years back when I lived up in Hamilton, Scotland.

Me,Brandon and our 'little legs' Alana took a trip to our local Frankie & Benny's in Teeside park, sadly Alesha wasn't with us as she had a sickness bug so was resting at home. When we entered we were greeted at the door and taken to a suitable table for the 3 of us.

We had a good look through the menu, which contained a wide choice of food at reasonable prices.
Brandon decided to go for the 2 courses on the lunch menu for £9.95. For his starter he choose the 'Crispy Coated Chicken Strips' two southern fried chicken breast strips, served on a honey mustard dressed lettuce leaves with clergy sticks and a pot of our delicious red french dressing on the side.

For his main course he choose the'Philly Cheeseburger' which was 'topped with our jalapeno cheese sauce, fresh baby gem lettuce, tomato, red onion, dill pickle and mayo. Served on a toasted sesame seed bun with house fries and a tomato chill relish on the side'.
I also choose decided to pick something from the lunch menu but I only went for 1 course which costs £6.95. I was debating between the 'Classic Hotdog' and the 'Chicken Penne Romana' and in the end I went for the 'Chicken Penne Romana' because it was something I haven't had before, whereas the 'Classic Hotdog' I've tried and tasted!

The 'Chicken Penne Romana' contained, chicken breast, spicy pepperoni and pancetta bacon tossed with mamma's rich neapolitan tomato and herb sauce. Freshly prepared to order and served with a choice of salad or house fries.

The kid's menu for Alana was really worth it because for £4.95 it included a choice of a main, desert and also a drink. Whereas many restaurants don't include the choice of a drink within the price of the kids meal, it's normally charged separate .
Alana choose 'Beef Burger' a grilled 4oz burger served in a sesame bun with fries, and served with a side salad. Add cheese for no extra cost!'

When the waitress brought over Alana's meal we were surprised but in a good way because the portion size was a really good generous size for a kid's meal. A beautiful smile came across Alana's face when she realised it was for her, "is that my burger daddy"? I think she liked the look of her meal.

Overall we really enjoyed our meal out at Frankie and Benny's, the food tasted home made with fresh ingredients. The price of the food was a bargain as we would expect to pay a little more money for what we received. The toilet was easy to access and locate as it was situated at the front of the restaurant by the entrance door. Before Alana's meal she was given a kid's activity pack with puzzle, colouring sheet and some crayons, which was ideal to keep her entertained whilst she waited for her meal.

Sadly we have some downfall's during our visit to Frankie and Benny's.
Firstly, with Brandon ordering a starter and me and Alana going straight to main meal and missing the starter, I thought the waitress might of asked if me & Alana wanted our meal brought out the same time as Brandon's starter, so we wouldn't be sat there looking at Brandon eating his starter.
Secondly, I ordered salad with my 'Chicken Penne Romana' but when I was presented with my plate it sadly contained no salad but a side portion of fries!
Lastly, there was a family sat across from us on a table enjoying their food when the waitress just walked over and picked up the sauce off their table and gave it to another customer who was seated at another table. I personally thought that was very rude as she could of asked the family if they had finished using it etc, but instead she didn't say a word to them.
Those little mistakes which we experienced has not put us off Frankie and Benny's, we will be going back to that restaurant this weekend with Alesha and Brandon's parents. We personally prefer it over Chiquito's and TGI Friday's.

We Have Decided On A Silvercross Red Surf Pram For Baby

When it comes to prams and pushchairs I have seriously lost count the number I've owned between both children.

It took me a while to decide which pram to get for baby number 3, and after ooooing and ahhing at a few different prams I finally made my mind up to purchase the Silvercross Red Surf after I came across on a local business baby shop Facebook page called Young Ones who are based in Hartlepool.

I have never been in their shop before so I spent alot of time looking at their products they had for sale on their Facebook page. Some of their stuff is second hand but in really good condition and all their products are well worth the price they are asking.
Our little sproglet's pram is second hand but in good condition and is only costing £175 and even better I can pay it off bit by bit.

I really can't wait for July to arrive now so I can take little miss out in it, arghhhh so excited!

On Tuesday the 14th April Young One's posted a brilliant deal on their Facebook page, 'brand new Mothercare cotbed, brand new 13cm deep mattress, lover so much bear cot mobile, matching bumper and a apple and pears quilted cover' all that for a low cost price of £140!!!

If I didn't already have a cot for our little one, I would have snapped this offer up right away!

Haven Marton Mere Blackpool - Waste Of Money

A few weeks ago we booked a break away to Marton Mere, a well known Haven family holiday site which is situated within Blackpool.

We decided to book the break away as that will be our last holiday as a family of 4 before our new addition arrives in July.

Even before we entered the site I was already very disappointed because I thought the Satnav had brought us to the wrong location because firstly, the entrance was next to a street full of house so when we turned left and the last house 'we had reached our destination' but sadly there was no sign saying Haven! There was a sign that said Marton Mere caravan park but that could of being any caravan park so I got Brandon to double check the road we were on with the road on Haven website and to my disbelief we were in the correct location.
Once we drove in it looked okay, there was nothing to get excited over no wow factor. We were grateful that our caravan was ready early for us as we arrived at 3.30 and our check in wasn't till 4pm.I think that was due to the fact we went during low season when the school weren't on holidays just yet!

The restaurant and fish and chip shop were nice, but sadly the swimming pool wasn't anything special as it had no separate kids paddling part, it was just one pool and not even a slide in sight.

The entertainment was rubbish and very boring to say the least, normally when we go on family holidays we like to stay out late like we did at Pontins but here all we did was yawn. There was nothing really for the grown up it was the same thing over & over again just the characters dressed up on stage or else the entertainers the are suppose to entertain the children.

We made sure Haven didn't put a downer on our few days in Blackpool so every day we drove to Blackpool town centre attractions to enjoy some fun with our girls.

I can honestly say we will never ever go back to Marton Mere, what a waste of money we spent booking it!
