Family Day Out: Tweddle Farm

With the children having broke up from school for a week and Brandon been off work over the weekend we thought it would be a good idea to go on a family day out to Tweddle Farm.

Both girls, Alesha and Alana really like animals so we thought the farm would be ideal and we could make a day of it there considering there was a soft play for younger children and a separate one for the older ones.

Before we set off on our 20 minute journey to Tweddle Farm, I sourced the internet for money off vouchers. I really pleased that my Google search had paid off and I found a voucher through . The voucher entitled 'free child with full paying adult'. That therefore ment that we didn't have to pay for Alesha or Alana so we dashed around to Brandons mothers house to use her printer to print the vouchers. In total we saved £11 as it costs £5.50 per child aged between 2-16 years.

We sadly only spent an hour and a half at the farm because it was quite cold out with a strong breeze even though the sun was shining. Plus I'm 32 weeks pregnant so I couldn't do much walking around the farm.

It's a big reasonable sized farm with a variety of different animals located inside small barns and also out on the farm. We bought the girls a bag of food each which cost 50p per bag so they could feed they animals. Alana wasn't too keen so she mostly stood back whilst Alesha and Brandon quite happily fed the animals.

Both the girls then went on the barrel ride (which was included in the entry price, one free ride). It lasted around 3 minutes max.

We then took them to the under 5's indoor softplay area which they loved running around burning off more energy.
After that we were all hungry and thirsty so we headed to the cafe situated near the entrance of the farm. Sadly that's a place we will never step foot in again. The prices are shocking for the small portion sizes and the place looked run down and miserable.

But overall we had a good day, we would visit again but only on a warm day so we could therefore stay for much longer and have a better walk around.

Braun Waterflex Wet and Dry Electric Shaver - £79.99

Braun WaterFlex shavers offer amazing skin comfort and an excellent close shave even in problem areas with its contour-adaptive swivel head. They combine ergonomic Braun design with non-slip grip with German Braun quality standards. They are specifically designed for usage in the shower and/or with foam to provide an outstanding and comfortable skin feeling during the shave and to prevent skin irritation.

Brandon received a Braun Waterflex shaver to review, he was pleasantly surprised with the overall smooth soft finish.
He doesn't normally have a close shave, due to it making him look alot younger than his actual age. But now he has given the Braun Waterflex a try, he has put aside his normal beard trimmer as the Braun Waterflex will be the only shaver he uses now for quite sometime.
Features and Benefits
  • Braun’s superior closeness paired with outstanding skin experience, including 2 years warranty.
  • For dry or wet usability, with foam or even in the shower thanks to its fully sealed body.
  • Contour-adaptive swivel head – perfectly adapts around the jaw line and under the chin: It has been specifically designed to catch every hair on every contour and give you an excellent shave, even in problem areas.
  • OptiBlade – our most advanced foil for perfect closeness that lasts longer: Its unique shape allows to capture more hair and cut them deeper than ever before. Braun has over 50 years of foil evolution experience culminating in our unique OptiBlade.
  • 3-stage cutting system – shaves long hair as easily as short hair.
  • Precision long hair trimmer for precise styling: To trim your sideburns, moustache or beard with this perfect and precise tool, simply slide the long hair trimmer upwards. Full charge in 1hour only - 45min. of cordless shaving: A quick 5min. charge is sufficient for 1 cordless shave. The SmartPlug has an automatic worldwide voltage adjustment (100V-240V). For your best convenience - at home or travelling.
What’s in the Box
  • Braun WaterFlex shaver
  • Protective cap
  • SmartPlug
  • Cleaning brush

What's the difference between foil and rotary shavers?
Rotary shavers are designed to work with cyclical movements while Braun foil shavers are designed to work with efficient sideways movements on the skin giving perfect control and precision. The foils protect the skin from irritation and are specifically designed to deliver the most thorough and comfortable shave from Braun.
Do you have any recommendation on how to shave with an electric foil shaver?
We normally recommend that you shave before you take a shower. But with new Braun WaterFlex and other specific wet&dry shavers from Braun, you can even shave in the shower or with foam / gel. After a few days without shaving, for example during the weekend, you should trim your stubble before you shave. Stretch the skin and shave against the direction of beard growth. Hold the shaver at a right angle (90°) to your skin. Keep the pressure even to achieve the most thorough and comfortable shave from Braun.
How often do I need to change the shaver head?
We recommend replacing all cutter parts every 18 months. We included a replacement part indicator in the display to ensure you know when to exchange the cutter parts, in order to return your shaver to 100% performance.
Does the battery have a memory effect as we know it from cell phone or laptops?
No, WaterFlex shavers use a Li-ion battery which has no memory effect. You can recharge it whenever you want and it has a low self-discharge rate (vs. NiMh batteries). Li-Ion batteries are therefore the most powerful and long-lasting battery available for Braun shavers.
Do the WaterFlex shavers have a warranty? How long is it?
All Braun shavers come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty.
These are normally priced at £159.99 but I have sourced them out online for alot cheaper, due to the fact that many companies are having Father's Day sales, so I'd advise you to buy now to avoid disappointment!

Review: The Fabulous Bakers New Natural Lunchbox Snack Range

With having 2 young daughters aged 5 and 2, it's always a nightmare to try and buy snacks they both enjoy and at the same time snacks which don't include junk food, i.e packet of crisps.
When were going on long journeys in the car or even a picnic out at a local park farm, they like to pack their own little lunch bags.

We were sent some of 'The Fabulous Bakers' new range of snacks to review, which included my favourite chocolate flapjacks, so I was therefore a happy bunny as soon as I opened the well packaged box!

  • All of The Fabulous Bakers range contain no artifical colours, flavours or preservatives
  • Proudly baked in Oxfordshire
  • Family owned
The new range got a massive thumbs up from me and the family including the man of the house Brandon.
Brandon's favourite was the 'Mango & Pineapple Bars', my favourite was the 'Chip Off The Old Chock Flapjacks' whereas both of the girls loved the 'Popcorn Bars'.
The girls, Alesha and Alana both packed a popcorn bar each into their lunch bags on Sunday to have as a yummy snack along with their sandwich for when we dropped them off at their Nanny's & Papa's house whilst me  and the Mr took a stroll around the carboot.
Today when Alesha came in from school she was rather upset when she realised that her and Alana had ate the popcorn bars and sadly there was none left. So tomorrows plan is,when we pick her up after school we will drive straight to Asda and she can nip in with me and buy a box or two.

I personally wasn't keen on the popcorn bars, the fruity popcorn taste just didn't tickle my tastebuds. Luckily Alana was sat next to me at the time so she finished the rest of the bar.
I also found, that the new range the popcorn bars were the messiest, as soon as you opened the wrapper it started to fall apart and create quite a mess.

The flapjacks on the otherhand were totally out of this world, they were so soft and moist and tasted yummy! They didn't create any mess, not even an oat escaped my mouth!

The Fabulous Bakers range has just launched in Asda, with Ocado and Sainsbury's to follow shortly.

I was sent these samples from The Fabulous Bakers free of charge, for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions my own.

Kids Go FREE to Edinburgh Zoo, Deep Sea World, Science Centres Across Scotland

Kids Go Free To Attractions Across Scotland With Kids Go Free @ Scotrail

You may or may not know that Scotrail have been running a promo for some time where up to two kids can go free with a paying adult off peak. BUT did you also know that those kids train tickets can be used to get kids into a whole load of attractions across Scotland for FREE? No? Then read on.
But I drive I here you say. Yeah so many people do nowadays but using this sneaky tip, you can still save pounds this summer on family days out. Just let's deal with the actual train travellers first.
So “Kids Go Free” from Scotrail is designed for kids aged 5-15 to travel for free off peak (generally after 9.15 am and evenings and all weekend including school holidays) and up to two kids can travel with one fare paying adult.
If you use this to travel to your chosen attraction, one child will get in for free per paying adult. So if there’s you and your partner, both buy one "Kids Go Free" ticket at the station and enter the attraction with one child each. So you’ve paid for two adults but both kids have got in for free.
If you drive, this can still benefit you and your family. As above buy a “Kids Go Free” ticket at the train station but if you’re not travelling by train, you’re not wanting to shell out any more than you have to. The cheapest fare I can see online is from Glasgow Queen Street to Glasgow High Street. This costs £1.10 and your child will get into your chosen attraction for free. You may know of a cheaper route, this is just an example of a "Kids Go Free" ticket you could buy at your local station before setting off.
Edinburgh Zoo for example costs £12 per child, while Deep Sea World Costs £9.50, so if you can get each child in for just £1.10 using the Scotrail trick above, there’s tidy savings to be made.
Under 3’s get into most of these attractions for free but double check that with your chosen venue.
So there you have it, what do you think?
